NEW ONLINE ART GALLERY DISPLAYS 200 PAINTINGS BY CATHOLIC ARTIST ELIZABETH WANG.
New online Art Gallery at www.radiantlight.org.uk/art
A new online Art Gallery has been launched which shows over 200 paintings by the artist Elizabeth
Wang. If you click on www.radiantlight.org.uk/art you will be able to see 15 exhibitions on subjects such as prayer, the love of God, the spiritual journey,
the Mass, the Rosary, the call to holiness, the story of Christ, and the Holy Trinity. The internet is having an
increasing influence on our lives, and many Catholic organisations are using it to evangelise. The success of websites
such as Sacred Space and xt3.com shows that many people are searching for spirituality and faith in their lives.
In providing a kind of visual catechism for a visual age, the Art Gallery presents images of faith in a modern
setting.
Elizabeth’s paintings have already touched many people. With their vivid colours and inspiring themes, they have
brought to life the phrase ‘a picture speaks a thousand words’. People could visit the Art Gallery if they want
a moment’s peace during their lunch hour, or if they need encouragement in their faith during a difficult time.
Elizabeth Wang, 62, has exhibited at the Royal Academy, and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. She
has had solo exhibitions of religious work at Westminster Cathedral, the Bar Convent Museum, and at the French
Church, Leicester Square. Her artwork has been used recently in the UK by CASE, the National Office for Vocation,
and the Apostleship of the Sea.
Pope Benedict XVI said at his Inauguration Mass “the Church as a whole
... must set out to lead people out of the desert, towards the place of life, towards friendship with the Son of
God, towards the One who gives us life, and life in abundance”. It is hoped that this
Art Gallery will help people to respond to the Pope’s call to renewal, to closer friendship with Christ. To visit
the Art Gallery and see for yourself, click on the website address above.
